Birth doula support, birth photography, and more in Minneapolis and St. Paul

On Covid-19 and the Steps We're Taking to Keep You Safe | Another Pandemic Update

Hello to our Gather community!

Here we are again, touching base with you about the COVID-19 coronavirus. Our greatest priority is supporting and serving you well - and safely. We recognize that the best way to honor our commitment to birthing families is to do everything in our power to keep you, your family, other birth professionals, and our Gather Birth team healthy.

Since March of 2020, we have been taking the following proactive precautions to ensure your wellness and preserve our ability to support you in full health when you need us most include:

Conducting internal Gather team meetings virtually.

While we love getting together for regular meetings, we've been gathering weekly via video call in order to minimize risk.

Scheduling all prospective client meetings virtually.

Scheduling all prenatal and postpartum meetings virtually.

Taking proactive measures to stay healthy in our personal and professional lives.

Individually: Each of us has been staying close to home with our core family members. When we venture out for rare essential trips, we double up on masks, wash our hands frequently, and use hand sanitizer often. At the time of this posting, multiple members of the Gather team have received COVID vaccinations.

As a team: After one of your Gather doulas attends an out-of-hospital birth, we will isolate for a period of time to ensure our own health as well as the health of our upcoming clients and birthplace staff. Additionally, we will get tested for COVID post-potential exposure.

Monitoring and following MDH, CDC, and WHO recommendations for health and safety, as well as using our own best judgment.

In addition to these measures, we’ve revised our current service offerings and are further limiting the number of clients we take. A list of the services we currently offer is right here. As of today (Feb 20, 2021), we have a few openings for new clients during the summer months, and again in late fall. April, May, and September are booked (or very nearly booked) and we’d love to hear from you if you’re interested in working with us. If we aren’t available, we’ll pass along the names of trusted birth workers in our community who are.

We are so grateful to you all. Know that we are standing alongside you in your efforts to keep our community safe! As always, we are here for you should you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions on how to better support you.
