Real Postpartum Photography | Doula and Birth Worker Branding Photography in Minneapolis, Minnesota
This was a special photo session- I got to photograph my own beloved postpartum doula (Izzy Adair), postpartum with her baby! The intention of this session was twofold.
Document the reality of postpartum: the un-made bed, the mountain of clothes waiting to be folded, dirty dishes in the sink, the snacks nearby for recovery and lactation fuel, the everyday tasks like peri-care, nipple care, pumping, burping, feeding. Emphasizing and normalizing the softness of postpartum. The soft body that transformed to grow your baby is transforming again to heal and attune to your needs as well as your baby’s. Nothing to be rushed or fixed. Just held and supported.
As a postpartum doula, she wanted to have authentic photos to go with the educational and promotional content on her website and social media. As fellow doulas, we are passionate about collaborating with others in this Twin Cities birth community.
