Born en caul (in their amniotic sac). Also known as a “veiled birth”. An event that occurs in less than 1 in 80,000 births. Our team has photographed many en caul/caul births. Every single time it happens, it is truly amazing to witness (and photograph).
This birth at Roots Community Birth Center was so special to be a part of. The birthing person intuitively navigated their birth so well, with movement, asymmetrical and upright positions, and rooted in connection to her partner.
