World Breastfeeding Week 2025 | Minneapolis, Minnesota

Breastfeeding is

Breastfeeding, chest feeding, or body feeding, whatever words that align with the lactating parent’s identity.

It is emotional and physical.

It is the fulfilling and draining.

It is everything in between.

It is the easy-going latching from the start.

It is the parent who is “triple feeding” as their baby continues to work on transferring milk effectively at the breast.

It is the parent who tried everything but couldn’t because of anatomical/physiological differences in their body.

It is the breastmilk oral cares for the baby in the NICU because they’re too young to orally feed.

It is the parent who couldn’t get a comfortable latch because baby has oral ties or other anatomical differences.

It is the parent who exclusively pumps.

It is the parent who bottle feeds with donated human milk.

It is the baby who uses a NG or G-Tube to receive human milk.

It is the baby who needs fortified milk to grow because they were born with complex medical needs or premature.

It is the parent who is pumping after the death of their baby.

It is the parent who uses a supplemental nursing system because they have chronic low milk supply.

It is the parent who gets recurrent clogged ducts and mastitis due to oversupply.

It is the parent whose milk never “came in” but is latching for bonding.

and so many other variations…

It is exactly what the lactating parent says it is for them and their family.

You get to choose what it is or isn’t for your body, your baby, and your family.

Your feeding journey deserves to be acknowledged and supported.
