Did you know just 5% of babies are born on their estimated due date? This baby joined that 5% club, born in the water after a swift and intense few hours of labor. What a beautiful birth this was to be present for. As you scroll through this birth story, you’ll see the normalization of physiological birth: an attentive birth team that knows just when to step in and when to sit back for the process to unfold, four older siblings present (and some even exploring the wonders of the placenta with their midwife!), and a partner attending to the various needs of his family and preparing sitz bath herbs for postpartum. The oxytocin was overflowing with all the love and support that filled this family’s home during their little one’s arrival.
