Birth Online Resources
Preparing for birth can be filled with more books, websites, blogs, and resources than you know what to do with. No worries, our team of birth doulas has whittled down the list to our favorite birth-y websites. There is a little something for everyone, regardless of which hospital, birth center, or home you plan to labor and deliver your baby.
ACOG: The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists
Have you chosen to deliver your baby with an OBGYN? The ACOG website is a great resource to learn more about the latest recommendations straight from OB’s. We recommend reading through several articles and bringing questions you have about labor and delivery to your own OB at your next prenatal appointment.
Childbirth Connection
We love Childbirth Connection. This organization is regularly working to use the latest evidence to improve pregnancy, birth, and postpartum for all families here in the US. Check out all their helpful resources on many labor and delivery topics.

If you only look at one online resource to prepare for your birth, we recommend it be this one. Evidence Based Birth takes all of the latest evidence on birth-related topics and breaks it down into easy to understand articles. Their site is easily searchable to find just the information you need. Topics range from due dates and gestational diabetes to induction and circumcision. Every article is unbiased and based strictly on the latest evidence.
Giving Birth With Confidence
We love this resource by Lamaze International, especially as you are navigating choices in the first two trimesters. We highly recommend checking out their resources on pregnancy, choosing your care team, and birthing location.
