“For the birth of my third and last baby I really wanted professional documentation. I wanted to have my husband be able to be fully present without needing his phone out to record any parts of labor, delivery, or our new baby meeting his brothers. I wanted to have some quality birth photos I was fine with absolutely anyone seeing, as well as photos just for us to have and remember. Brittany from Gather Birth far exceeded all of my expectations.
I never felt watched or self conscious with having my photo taken. I was never even aware of the camera. However, she was not just a fly on the wall during my birth experience. Instead, her presence added to the felt sense of support and encouragement in the room. Having the photos to look back on made the challenging days of early postpartum a little easier. This family hired for birth photography, but we are not simply there to document. We have been supporting birthing families for years and intentionally contribute to the energy of each family’s birth space. We will add to the emotional support of the room, helping gather needed items or tools, sometimes even being an additional physical support during labor or freshly postpartum with lactation. We read the room and contribute where it is needed and meaningful. All while taking photos/video to treasure meeting your baby forever.
