Born at The Mother Baby Center at Abbott Northwestern Hospital, in Minneapolis, Minnesota | An IVF Birth Story of Hope in Photographs
This family went through 7 years of infertility (including all the years of trying naturally before they could try oral medications that didn’t work, the numerous rounds of IUI and then finally IVF). They feel so fortunate to have conceived their precious baby in their first round of IVF. IVF was a year long journey from retrieval to transfer (with multiple cancellations and setbacks along the way) but they kept hoping and praying, and now they have their sweet baby is in their arms!
Infertility journeys don’t happen in a protective bubble. All of the years of infertility and treatments and procedures were amongst a career as a labor nurse and watching friends and coworkers have babies and start their own families. It is so much emotional work to honor your own journey while continuing to foster relationships and show up how you can for those close to you.
Their pregnancy became more complicated with a placenta abruption, cervical change and contractions at 29 weeks. They simultaneously tried to prepare to meet their baby a lot earlier than expected while also holding on to hope that things could resolve/safe enough to go home and make it as close to term as possible.
With gratitude and joy, they made it to 39 weeks before it was time to meet their baby.
Dreams came true for this family, we are over-the-moon happy for them!
